This is a strange one. Weird Al reportedly wrote this song as a parody of Jack & Diane but John Melloncamp declined. Instead of completely scrapping the song he redid it as a Blue song instead. It's clear that the lyrics mostly remained unchanged when he switched to the new style. The Matt's discuss this particularly mean-spirited song that did not age well over the last 40 years and also discuss our feelings on Blues music and John Cougar Melloncamp!
